When kids worship

The above picture of Samara, a five year old Nigerian pastor's daughter in deep worship has been trending and I must say I am intrigued.

My five year old self ( wait! What am I saying) even my twenty year old sef could never have worshipped God so intently. Lol.  Don't mind me. I didn't even know God well , how much more worship him.

But if you ask me, I say it's never too early to know Christ, nor to worship him.
In fact I wish I knew earlier in my life, how awesome Jesus Christ was and still is.

From the father's comments, I gathered that he too was uncomfortable with his daughter falling down on her knees in church and in fact he called his wife that morning to tell his daughter not to do do again.

Only for this ( the first pic) to happen that very day.

He must have realized his mistake, from his comments as seen in the screen shot below , and also as his Facebook page is flooded with shared links of the pictures by blogs and websites.

His initial discomfort stemmed from the fact that he didn't think a five year old child could appreciate being slain.
Kids have open, trusting, loving minds. I wouldn't be surprised to know that this five year old girl understands THAT Jesus died for her even more than some adults. And once she understands who Jesus is, I don't think it's that difficult to be in worship mood to a very deep extent.
We adults like to think and over process. And over complicate simple stuff.

Little kids just believe. Is it any wonder that Jesus loved kids and in Mark 19:14 says
"Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children."

Matthew 18:13 says
"Truly I tell you," He said, "unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven".

I rest my case. Lol.
What about you? What do you think?
Was the pastor right to be uncomfortable at first?

  1. Oh my, this is so touching! Out of the mouth of babes has he ordained praises.

S2C, children can discern things very early. My now five year old has been shocking us with the things she says from when she was about three. That's eh she tells us things God wants to confirm to us. It is very scary! Then one day, she said when she prays, God gives her ideas to tell us. We were lost for words. We prayed for a child devoted to God but it can be very shocking when you see your child so devoted to the Lord. May this little girl never depart from the ways of the Lord.
How are you, dear? May your work, blog and everything else be blessed this week. Ehugs.

    1. So lovely about your daughter.
I think it's never too early for God to use or call anybody. And especially for children who will be important in doing God's work. Look at Samuel. Even Jeremiah.
Some kind of children cannot help but manifest their calling from childhood because of the Spirit of God in them and the plan of God for their life before they were born.
      Jeremiah 1:5
"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations"

It's good to read from the perspective of a parent.
I think it's a lesson for us singles to start praying about the kind of children we want. I think they firm part of the prayers God wants us to pray.

Amen! Amen! And Amen. And you are right. Children like this and all children generally need ours prayers for them not to deviate from the ways of the Lord.
      Thanks for coming by dear.
